Syrian warplanes hit Kurdish-held areas for first time

Syrian government warplanes on Thursday bombed Kurdish-controlled areas of the city of Hasaka in northeastern Syria for the first time in the five-year-old civil war, the spokesman for the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia and a monitoring group said.

Russian Defense Ministry affirmed on Friday that Russia will not allow under any circumstances additional arms supplies to the areas controlled by militants in Aleppo, noting the possibility of opening humanitarian corridors not only from the city of Aleppo, but into the city if necessary.
