Reports disagree whether North Korea quake was man-made

The tremor occurred at 5:29 p.m., some 20 kilometers southeast of the country's Punggye-ri nuclear test
A 3.0 magnitude earthquake detected near North Korea's nuclear test site Saturday is presumed to have been a natural quake, South Korea's weather agency said.

Ecuador quake death toll jumps to 646, one week on

More aftershocks in Nepal as death toll soars

Nepal has been rocked by aftershocks as the death toll from the magnitude 7.8 quake rose to at least 4,000, and as aid agencies prepare "massive" humanitarian operations.
Nepal police said on their Facebook page late on Monday evening that over 3,904 deaths had been counted so far, and 7,180 more were reported injured.

Nepal quake kills more than 1,100; rips cities, crumbles history

Tens of thousands of people prepared to spend the night in the open under a chilly and thundery sky after a powerful earthquake shook Nepal on Saturday, killing more than 1,180 people, collapsing modern houses and centuries-old temples, and triggering a landslide on the slopes of Mount Everest. Officials said the death toll will rise as more reports from far-flung areas come in.

Eurosceptic parties cause 'earthquake' at EU polls

BRUSELS: France's far-right National Front and Britain's UKIP led a eurosceptic "earthquake" in EU parliamentary polls, sending shockwaves across Europe and beyond.

The EU Parliament's own projections on Monday morning showed the extent of the anti-EU breakthrough, with eurosceptic parties set to win around 140 seats in the 751-seat assembly.

The most emphatic results from the four days of polling across the 28-nation bloc, which ended on Sunday, came on both sides of the British Channel.

В Казахстане произошло три землетрясения подряд/Testimonies

Третье по счету землетрясение зарегистрировали сейсмологи в понедельник вечером в Алма-Атинской области Казахстана. Согласно информации сейсмологической опытно-методической экспедиции комитета науки министерства образования и науки Казахстана, третий толчок произошел через четыре минуты после предыдущего землетрясения — в 23:12 алма-атинского времени.
