Kanzlerin Angela Merkel und Frankreichs Staatschef François Hollande wollen das Euro-Krisenmanagement stärken: Künftig soll die Eurogruppe von einem hauptamtlichen Präsidenten geführt werden.
Das schlugen beide Politiker am Donnerstag in Paris vor. Es brauche mehr Koordinierung, um den Stabilitäts- und Wachstumspakt umzusetzen, zudem ein Budget der Euro-Zone für den Kampf gegen Arbeitslosigkeit, eine bessere Umsetzung der Bankenunion, mehr Steuerharmonisierung und zusätzliche Gipfeltreffen zur Abstimmung der Euro-Partner.

Das Treffen von Merkel und Hollande war mit Spannung erwartet worden. Oft schienen beide weit weg von einem gemeinsamen Ansatz im Kampf gegen die Krise. Immer wieder traten Differenzen auch offen zutage.
