Wladimir Putin warnt: "Der Friede in Europa ist zerbrechlich"

Am 100. Jahrestag des Beginns des Ersten Weltkriegs hat Wladimir Putin davor gewarnt, dass der Friede in Europa zerbrechlich sei". Er sei nur durch "guten Willen und Dialog" zu erreichen.

Kremlchef Wladimir Putin hat zum 100. Jahrestag des Beginns des Ersten Weltkriegs gemahnt, dass der Friede in Europa "zerbrechlich" sei. 
Ohne den blutigen Konflikt in der Ukraine direkt zu erwähnen, sagte Putin in Moskau: "Die Menschheit sollte längst begriffen und die wichtigste Wahrheit anerkannt haben: Gewalt erzeugt Gewalt." Frieden und Wohlstand seien nur durch "guten Willen und Dialog" zu erreichen. Dies seien die Lehren aus Kriegen, sagte der Kremlchef der Agentur Interfax zufolge bei der Einweihung eines Denkmals für die Opfer des Ersten Weltkriegs.

Russia in Continued Military Overhaul (Putin)

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday it was his government’s priority to defend the nation against potential military threats, with the help of improved armed forces.

“We are bringing [the military] to a whole new level to keep it on par with the requirements of the 21st century,” Putin said in a speech to military academy graduates in the Kremlin.

“It’s evident that only a mobile, highly effective army and fleet are capable of solving the strategic task of securing Russia’s safety, sovereignty and national interests. The main goal is to defend our citizens against potential military threats,” Putin said.

Obama warns Putin to work with Ukraine or face new sanctions

Gas supplies may be affected, Putin warns Europe. -- Russia may begin requiring advance payment for natural gas from Ukraine

President Vladimir Putin on Thursday sent a letter to EU leaders, expressing his "extreme concern" over Ukraine's debt for Russian gas and warning them that supplies to Europe may be affected, his spokesman said.

"Indeed, such a letter signed by Putin was today delivered to heads of state of Eastern and Western Europe through diplomatic channels," Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the state RIA Novosti news agency.

"Putin expresses extreme concern over the critical situation around Ukraine's debt and supplies of Russian gas related to it," Peskov said.

In Russia, Ban calls for ‘honest and constructive dialogue between Kyiv and Moscow’


UN, 20 March 2014 – Leading diplomatic efforts to encourage all parties involved in the Ukraine crisis to find a peaceful solution, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met today with Russian President Vladimir Putin and emphasized the need for de-escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, and restoring the “brotherly relationship” between the two countries.
“It is clear that we are at a crossroads. I will continue to fulfil my duty as Secretary-General of the United Nations and engage with all relevant parties. We must employ every possible diplomatic tool at our disposal to solve this crisis, which has grave political and economic ramifications,” stressed Mr. Ban, in a statement to the press in Moscow, earlier today.

Putin rejects meddling in Ukraine. -Pas de révision des accords avec l'Ukraine si l'opposition arrive au pouvoir

The EU and Russia agreed Tuesday to discuss their sharp differences over Ukraine and eastern Europe as President Vladimir Putin again warned against foreign meddling in former Soviet states.
Putin went into a summit with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission head Jose Manuel Barroso billed as a "clear the air session" only for both sides to come out stressing the positives.
Apparently aiming to calm the waters in Ukraine, Putin also promised not to review crucial aid worth $15 billion (11 billion euros) even if the opposition, hostile to closer ties with Russia, takes power there.

Netanjahu blitzt bei Putin mit Vorstoß gegen den Iran-Deal ab. -2012 lag der gegenseitige Handelsumsatz bei 2,9 Milliarden Dollar.

Der israelische Ministerpräsident Benjamin Netanjahu ist am Mittwoch nach Moskau gekommen, um Präsident Wladimir Putin davon zu überzeugen, von der Lockerung der Sanktionen gegen den Iran abzusehen, schreibt die „Nesawissimaja Gaseta“ am Donnerstag.

Netanjahu blitzte mit seinem Anliegen bei Putin ab. Allerdings lobten beide die erfolgreiche Entwicklung der russisch-israelischen Beziehungen. 


Moskau warnte Israel vor Militärschlägen in Syrien, weil die radikalen Islamisten davon profitieren würden.

President Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin shared a brief, 15-second greeting Thursday at the G-20 summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. It was the first face-to-face interaction between the leaders after a summer of high-profile spats over Syria, Edward Snowden and gay rights.

According to the White House pool report, the pair shook hands and chatted briefly, with President Obama at one point flashing a big grin. Reporters could not hear what the pair discussed.

LONDON, June 16 (RIA Novosti) – President Vladimir Putin on Sunday defended Russia’s weapons supplies to Syria saying they are in the framework of the international law. “If we speak calmly, I want to stress that Russia supplies arms to the legitimate government of Syria in full compliance with the norms of international law and we call on our partners to act in the same way,” Putin told reporters after talks with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Sunday. “We are not breaching any rules,” Putin said. "I think you will not deny that one does not really need to back the people who not only kill their enemies, but open up their bodies and eat their intestines," Putin said referring to a video footage of a rebel eating what appeared to be a government soldier’s heart.
