EgyptAir Flight MS804: Recorder shows pilots 'battled fire'

Pilots of the EgyptAir jet that crashed in the Mediterranean Sea in May battled to extinguish a fire, the cockpit voice recorder reportedly shows.

A top EU polluter, Poland, hosts UN climate summit.

The annual UN climate conference opened Monday in Poland, a European country that has been singled out for its pollution. Negotiations will continue until 2015, when an emissions agreement must be signed....

"Der Mensch schafft ein prähistorisches Klima"- Metastudie

Der angebliche Streit in der Wissenschaft um die Ursachen des Klimawandels ist einer neuen Studie zufolge klar entschieden.
Nach der Auswertung Tausender Studien zu dem Thema aus einem Zeitraum von 20 Jahren kamen Wissenschaftler aus den USA, Australien und Kanada zu dem Ergebnis, dass die überwältigende Mehrheit von knapp über 97 Prozent darin übereinstimmt, als Verursacher der Klimaerwärmung den Menschen anzusehen.
Bei Diskussionen über politische Maßnahmen gegen den Klimawandel wird immer wieder angeführt, die Ursachen des Klimawandels seien nicht eindeutig erwiesen.

Millions face starvation as world warms, say scientists ... World is unprepared for changes that will see parts of Africa turned into disaster areas, say food experts

Millions of people could become destitute in Africa and Asia as staple foods more than double in price by 2050 as a result of extreme temperatures, floods and droughts that will transform the way the world farms.
As food experts gather at two major conferences to discuss how to feed the nine billion people expected to be alive in 2050, leading scientists have told the Observer that food insecurity risks turning parts of Africa into permanent disaster areas. Rising temperatures will also have a drastic effect on access to basic foodstuffs, with potentially dire consequences for the poor.

Novembre est le 333e mois consécutif de surchauffe sur la planète

Pour le 333e mois consécutif, la température de la planète en novembre a été supérieure à la moyenne relevée pour la même période au cours du XXe siècle, d'après le bilan mensuel publié par la National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) américaine. Une température mensuelle mondiale inférieure à la moyenne du XXe siècle n'a plus été observée sur Terre depuis le mois de février 1985.
