Around 10 foreign ministers expected to take part in Vienna meeting on Syria on October 30

Around 10 foreign ministers are expected to take part in the Vienna meeting on Syria on October 30, a diplomatic source told TASS on Wednesday.

The foreign ministers of Russia, US, Saudi Arabia and Turkey will hold a meeting on Thursday evening, and will be joined by other participants on October 30.

Earlier today Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry confirmed that they will take part in the Vienna meeting, along with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

German Foreign Ministry said Frank-Walter Steinmeier will also take part in the meeting on October 30.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will also be present.

According to the diplomatic source, the foreign ministers of Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and UK may also attend the meeting.

Lavrov proposed to broaden the group on settling the Syrian crisis on October 23 in Vienna. "I think that around a dozen countries and structures will be appropriate," Lavrov said.
