EU has largely ‘abandoned’ Greece to deal with migrant crisis on its own, UN expert warns

UN, 17 May 2016 – The suffering of migrants in Greece is the result of a complete absence of long-term vision and the clear lack of political will of the European Union (EU), a United Nations human rights expert said today, warning that Greece, already struggling to cope with fiscal challenges, has been abandoned by the EU to deal with a crisis that requires a response from all countries in the region.

EU cancels Vienna talks on FYROM crisis (Bulgarian media FYROM name propaganda)

The European Union has cancelled what were intended to be talks bringing together the FYROM [*] major parties to resolve that country’s current crisis, after major opposition party SDSM insisted it would not attend the meeting that had been planned for April 22 in Vienna.

Ukraine: as winter closes in, UN warns 700,000 children at risk due to severely damaged heating systems

UN,  13 November 2015 – About 700,000 children in Donetsk and Luhansk in Eastern Ukraine are in danger of the potential failure of the heating systems during the winter months, said United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) today adding that conflict in the region has heavily damaged the interlinked water, heating and electricity service.

UN, 28 July 2015 – The verdicts in the trial of 37 Qadhafi regime officials, including against the former leader’s son, Saif al-Islam Qadhafi, handed down today by the Tripoli Court of Assize, has drawn serous concern from senior United Nations human rights officials in Libya, as well as in Geneva, amid fears the trial did not meet international standards on a number of fronts.
