Minorities in Turkey tagged by ‘race codes,’ official document reveals
An official document penned by the Istanbul Provincial Education
Directorate has surfaced, revealing that Turkey’s population
administration system has been recording citizens who have Armenian,
Jewish or Anatolian Greek (Rum) origins with secret “race codes.”
The Armenian-Turkish weekly newspaper Agos published as its headline story on Aug. 1 a report on an official document that openly states “citizens with Armenian origin are coded with ‘2.’”
The implementation is reported to have been in place since 1923, the foundation year of the Turkish Republic.

ERT survived the Nazis and the junta but not the troika ....
-
Derek Gatopoulos
The television and radio broadcasts
of ERT are indelibly etched into all Greeks' minds. This detailed
review of the history of the broadcaster by the Associated Press
explains why a country has stood up and resisted its sudden closure...
When Nazi troops marched into Greece's nearly deserted capital on 27
April 1941, radio announcer Kostas Stavropoulos of the Hellenic
Broadcasting Corporation announced the grim news. He urged his
countrymen and women not to listen to future Nazi radio transmissions
and signed off with the Greek national anthem.

Journalists targeted in Greece bombings
Homemade bombs have exploded at the homes of five journalists from
major media outlets in Athens. Police are linking the attacks to the
current economic crisis in the country and the way the mainstream media
have reported it.
The devices, made of gas canisters, exploded outside residences in different areas of Athens. The explosions caused minor damage to the buildings’ entrances, but no one was injured.
